Connect your domain with Another provider
These steps are the same almost everywhere - only the labels differ a little. Find your DNS settings, add the records, and paste in the values Droply shows you.
The records you are adding
Droply shows your exact records on the Domains page of your dashboard. The main one looks like this (copy your own values from there):

Next to it, add the TXT record the Domains page shows you, named
_droply-challenge plus your subdomain. It proves the domain is yours, and your domain
goes live once we see it. A domain you bought through Droply needs neither: we set its DNS
for you.
Steps in Another provider
The words in bold are exactly what to look for and click in Another provider.
- Sign in to wherever you bought or manage your domain (your registrar or DNS host).
- Find the DNS settings, often called DNS, DNS Records, Manage DNS, or Zone file.
- Click Add record (or Add New Record) and choose the Type Droply shows you (CNAME or TXT).
- Put the Name in the host/name field and paste the Value Droply shows you (the one above) into the value/target field.
- Save the record and wait a few minutes.
Good to know
- If the provider already fills in your domain, enter only the part before it (e.g.
blog), not the whole thing. - Use
@(or leave the name blank) when the record is for your root domain. - Most providers do not allow a CNAME on the root domain. If yours refuses, point a subdomain like
wwwinstead, or contact us and we will help. - DNS changes can take a few minutes to a few hours to spread across the internet.
After you save
That is the only step on your side. DNS changes take a few minutes to spread across the internet (sometimes up to an hour).
